Yewa Descendants Union UK & Ireland donates classroom furniture to Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School

Education is the bedrock of development both at the community and national level. This was the reasoning behind the donation of desk and chairs by Yewa Descendants Union (YDU) UK and Ireland (member group of Yewa development council) to Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School, Iboro-Yewa in Yewa North Local Government Area to support the effort of government in making the school conducive for learning.

The desks and chairs were on Sunday the 7th of November 2022 officially presented for use to the Mr. Ayinla Orebiyi led school authority by Yewa Descendants Union YDU UK and Ireland represented by Mr Kehinde Akinlade.

Speaking from her United Kingdom base on the furniture donation, Yewa Descendants Union YDU UK and Ireland contact person for the donation, Ms. Yetunde Odebiyi who is a native of Iboro-Yewa said it is not enough to get children ready for schools, the school should also be made ready and welcoming for the pupils to want to stay and to be happy to learn.

She reiterated the commitment of Yewa Descendants Union UK and Ireland members to the growth and development of their land of birth promising that from time to time the union will be getting involved in critical areas where the people of Yewaland are in need of support, to make living, working and leisure easy in Yewaland.

When briefed by the representative of YDU, Mr Kehinde Akinlade about the furniture intervention of Yewa Descendants Union for Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School, Iboro, the Aboro of Iboro-Yewa, His Royal Highness, Oba Daniel Abayomi Salako was full of praises to members of YDU for their thoughtfulness and their decision to give back to their land of birth.

The royal father prayed for endless divine intervention for all members of YDU and their children.

In the same vein, the Chairman of the school’s Parents Teachers Association Chief Rafiu Elegbede was full of appreciation for the gesture of Yewa Descendants Union UK and Ireland to the pupils of Holy Trinity Anglican Primary School, Iboro-Yewa.
