Oba Olugbenle Rejoices Over AIG Egbetokun’s Elevation To DIG Rank, Says He Has Brought Glory To Yewaland

Nigeria, Ogun State – The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, has expressed his delight over the elevation of AIG  Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun to the rank of a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) by Police Service Commission (PSC).

In an extract from a Congratulatory message sent from the Oba’s palace made available to Newsmen in Ilaro, Thursday, Oba Olugbenle said he was greatly delighted to formally congratulate Egbetokun on his elevation to the exalted rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police to represent the South West zone of the country in the Nigerian Police Force hierarchy.

He said, “As one of our illustrious sons in Yewaland and a blue blooded descendant of the Itu-Omoniyi royal family of Erinja-Yewa, not only have you made us very proud, you have also brought honour and dignity to your Father land and Yewa people at large’, he said, adding, ‘you have made the statement, loud and clear, that many good and glorious products abound within the frontiers of Yewaland”.

Oba Olugbenle said he was happy that DIG Egbetokun had remained focussed, diligent and forthright in his career over the years where he has distinguished himself and proved his mettle.

“In all these, you have persevered and demonstrated high level integrity, great leadership qualities and loyalty which have positioned you roundly for this elevation as one of the finest police officers in the country today”, the monarch said.

Oba Olugbenle, according to his Media Consultant, Omooba Femi Dokunmu, noted that with Egbetokun’s qualifications, competence and experience garnered in the various capacities he had served across the country, he was optimistic that the new DIG has what it takes to succeed in this new assignment.

The monarch, he said admonished Egbetokun to continue to be a diligent officer and exemplary mentor to inspire others, praying that Almighty God will continue to strengthen him and endow him with all that he requires to attain more lofty heights in the years to come.

It would be recalled that Oba Olugbenle has just sent out similar message of congratulations to another Yewa son, Mr Kolawole Peter Fagbohun who was on Wednesday sworn in as the Ogun State Head of Service.
