CHAIRMAN, IPOKIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT, HON. JOHNSON AKOHOMEH AVOSEH, INSPECTS ONGOING GENERAL HOSPITAL–AFERIKU ROAD PROJECT IN IDIROKO

Published:February 4, 2026

We carried out an inspection visit to the ongoing road construction project at General Hospital–Aferiku Road, Idiroko, on Thursday, 29 January 2026, as part of efforts to monitor infrastructure development being undertaken by the Ogun State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun - MFR , CON.

The project, a 2.8-kilometre road being handled by CCECC Construction Company, is one of the critical interventions aimed at improving road connectivity, easing transportation challenges, and enhancing access to healthcare and economic activities within Ipokia Local Government.

During the inspection, we carefully assessed the level and quality of work carried out so far, with particular attention to the drainage system and flood channelling provided along the road corridor. Interactions with residents of the area revealed a high level of satisfaction, as they expressed joy and appreciation to His Excellency for addressing a long-standing challenge. The condition of the road had previously been a major source of hardship and concern for the community.

The inspection team comprised members of the Local Government Management Team, the Executive Council, and the Legislative Council, led by the Leader of the House, Honourable Adeyanju Akeem Alamu. Also in attendance were the Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisors, and other key management staff of Ipokia Local Government.

We also interfaced with the Project Manager and the Chinese engineers on site, during which the Governor’s message was conveyed, emphasising the need for adherence to standards and durability in the execution of the project. We equally expressed optimism and expectation that the road would be completed within the shortest possible time.

We commend the Ogun State Government for this impactful intervention and reaffirm our commitment to continuous monitoring of projects within Ipokia Local Government to ensure quality delivery and maximum benefit to our people.

Signed,
