TRADITIONAL RULER VOWS COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR OGUN GOVERNMENT DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

The Onitoro of Itoro, Oba Nathaniel Fasina, has assured the State Government of the unwavering support of his community for the development initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and accelerating growth in the area.

            The royal father gave the assurance while playing host to a government delegation  from the State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security led by the Director,  Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr Siraj Fashola at his palace in Itoro, Ipokia Local Government Area.

             Oba Fasina commended the State government for engaging traditional institutions and community leaders at the early stages of project planning, describing such consultations as critical to peaceful and sustainable development.

            He noted that if communities were adequately informed and carried along, misunderstandings would be reduced and projects would enjoy wider acceptance.

             The monarch pledged the cooperation of the people and residents of his domain, urging them to support government officials during field activities, while also appealing to authorities to remain transparent and responsive to local concerns.

             The leader of the government delegation, Director , Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Siraj Fashola explained that the visit was to brief the traditional ruler and stakeholders on an upcoming large-scale technical project in the area, adding that early notification was necessary to prevent confusion or unnecessary alarm.

            He explained that the exercise would involve field personnel and the possible use of drones for routine technical assessments, stressing that continuous engagement with community leaders was aimed at building trust and ensuring that residents understand the purpose and limits of the ongoing work.
