YPDC Summer Coaching Commences across Yewaland

The Yewa People Development Council (YPDC) has initiated a comprehensive coaching class aimed at enhancing the academic performance of science students in Senior Secondary School 2 (SS2) and Senior Secondary School 3 (SS3). The programme, officially commenced with a flag-off ceremony on Monday 29th July 2024 at the 10 different centers to ensure widespread accessibility and impact across Yewaland.

The primary objective of this coaching initiative, as submitted by YPDC Chairman, Professor Rahamon Bello, is to provide targeted educational support to science students, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in their academic pursuits and national examinations. By doing so, the body aims to foster a culture of academic excellence and increase the number of students from Yewaland who pursue higher education in science-related fields.

The Yewa People Development Council has received overwhelming support from the local community, including parents, youths and local leaders, who have all expressed their commitment to the success of this programme. Representatives of all structures of YPDC: the Yewa Think Tank, Yewa Youth Association, Yewa Development Forum, Yewa Descendants Union and others were at different centres to ensure the successful commencement of the exercise.

The coaching classes are being held at the following locations: Alamuwa Grammar School, Ado-Odo; Male Comprehensive High School, Igbesa; Nazareth High School, Imeko; Community High School, Idi-Ayin; District High School, Ipokia; Iko Gateway Grammar School, Idiroko; Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro; Ketu Colege, Igan-Alade; Anglican Grammar School, Ilaro; and Muslim Progressive High School, Oke-Odan.

The commencement of the coaching class across Yewaland is a significant step towards improving science education in the region. The Yewa People Development Council remains dedicated to nurturing the academic potential of its young ones and looks forward to the positive impact this initiative will have on the students and the broader community.
