New Star Metal International Limited, NSMIL, Lagos, a metal trading, non-ferrous packaging company, established by a Yewa indigene and member of Yewa Development Forum, YDF, Alhaji Abdulateef Sulaimon, has bagged the prestigious International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, QMS. The official presentation of the ISO Certificate was performed on Thursday, 24th August, 2023 at the company’s Corporate Head Office, 7, Alhaji Sulaimon Street, Owode Onirin, Lagos by the Head Technical Review SON Management System Certification, Mrs. Rabi Idakwo who represented the Director-General, Standards Organization of Nigeria, Mallam Farouk. Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, New Star Metal International Limited, Alhaji Abdulateef Sulaimon, commended the officials of the Standards Organization of Nigeria for diligently and satisfactorily performing their statutory inspection of the company’s operations, acknowledging the ISO Certification as a testimony of NSMIL’s unwavering commitment to quality, efficiency and continuous improvement. While acknowledging the support and dedication of the management, staff, clients and stakeholders of the company over the years, Alhaji Sulaimon stated that, “This certification is more than just a piece of paper or a plaque on our walls. It is a reflection of the hard work, diligence and dedication of every staff and stakeholders of the company, noting that the journey to achieve this esteemed landmark was not easy, but it was worth every challenge at every moment of inspection”.
In the speech read by Mrs. Rabi Idakwo, on behalf of the Director-General, SON, Mallam Farouk A. Salim commended the management and staff of New Star Metal International Limited, NSMIL for meriting the ISO 9001:2015 certification, noting that, by the feat attained, the company has joined the privileged class of Quality Management System certified and upgraded organizations in Nigeria.
The DG, while calling on other manufacturing companies in Nigeria to emulate NSMIL, further stated that the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System approach provides the company a robust, globally recognized and acceptable solution to address the challenges associated with managing quality and delivering an excellent customer experience, noting, “Implementing the ISO 9001:2015 system certification reflects your vision to deliver quality services and products to your diverse clientele at all times and a practical demonstration of your management’s conformity with internationally acceptable standard requirements, underscoring the ability of NSMIL to get it right the first time and always”.
