NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF YEWA STUDENTS (NAYES) NATIONAL BODY INAUGURATES NEW LEADERSHIP

Yesterday, 23rd December 2024, the newly elected executives of the National Association of Yewa Students (NAYES) National Body were formally inaugurated at the Yewa People Development Council (YPDC) Secretariat. The event highlighted the importance of student leadership and regional progress.

The ceremony featured a special address delivered by Com. Adeola Adeyemi, a Digital Media Expert and Media Aide to His Royal Majesty Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland. Comr. Adeyemi commended the association’s dedication to Yewaland’s development, encouraged the new executives to prioritize student welfare and be courageous at all times. He assured them of continued support and guidance from necessary stakeholders.

The Yewa People Development Council (YPDC), representative congratulated the new executives and urged them to remain steadfast and committed to the progress of Yewaland. He reminded them that YPDC is the governing body of all associations in Yewaland and encouraged the executives to provide monthly reports to the council while working collaboratively as a united team.

The Yewa Youth Association (YYA), represented by the organization’s Director of Media and Strategic Communications, Comr. Fatai Olaniran, also congratulated the new team and encouraged them to work diligently in fostering development in the region.

Stakeholders of the association led by Com. Durojaye Oluwasegun and other distinguished members, provided valuable words of advice and support to the newly inaugurated executives.

During the event, the outgoing President, Com. Faleru Peter, officially handed over the Association’s official documents and instruments of office to the new leadership. The oath of office was administered, and certificates of return were presented to the newly elected executives.

The newly inaugurated National President, Com. Tella Faruq Ayobami, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Yewa People Development Council, critical stakeholders, and everyone who has been supporting him and the Association. He acknowledged the honour of becoming the substantive National President after previously served the Organization in numerous capacities including the Chairman of the National Caretaker committee. He assured all stakeholders of his commitment to exceeding expectations and fostering the development of Yewaland and beyond through the Association’s initiatives.

The inauguration was graced by several notable dignitaries, including representatives of the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Yewa People Development Council, Yewa Youth Association, DSS, Security agencies, Yewa Students from several institutions, CPC Chairman Com. Otolorin Nasirudeen, CPC Secretary Com. Olalude Idris, and former NAYES National Presidents and stakeholders such as Com. Durojaye Oluwasegun, Com. Yinus Fatai, Com. Fasina Oluwadamilare, Com. Lukmon Okewunmi, Com. Kusoro Jeremiah, Com. Faleru Peter, Com. Tosin Lawmaker, and other well-wishers with positive contributions toward the growth of Yewaland.

The choice of the venue for the inauguration highlights the critical role of the YPDC, the supreme coordinating body for all pan-Yewa associations, both within and beyond Yewaland, in guiding and supporting associations like NAYES to ensure their initiatives align with the overarching goals of unity, development, and empowerment across the Yewa community.
