Abe Igi Ope Progressive Club of Iboro in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State has celebrated its 10 years of its existence as a socio cultural club.
As part of the activities marking the occasion which was held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Hall, Iboro, the socio cultural club has lifted 20 residents of Iboro financially, with beneficiaries drawn across gender and age.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the club, Chief Rafiu Elegbede went down memory lane tracing the establishment of the club to the social gathering of friends and likeminds a decade ago.
Chief Elegbede said the club has been engaging in humanitarian and developmental activities in Iboro with the list including distribution of textbooks to students, equipment support to Iboro Health Centre, financial assistance to the vulnerable and infrastructural developments like the provision of solar Streetlights.
He called on sons and daughters of Iboro town to come to the support of Abe Igi Ope Progressive Club as it continues its interventions in support of growth and development in Iboro town.
Other speakers including a one time Ogun State House of Assembly member, Chief James Bankole Chief Phillips Majiyagbe, Chief Kayode Akinseinde lauded members of Abe Igi Ope for their interventions in critical areas across Iboro.
The event was Chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Jamiu Akande Omoniyi who was represented by Mr. Afeez Omoniyi, Hon. Musa Muhammed and the Councillor of Iboro/Joga Ward, Hon. Bayo Adegboyega.
The occasion also has Mr. Akin Orebiyi, a former INEC REC who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Ewiri Farms, Iboro as special guest among other dignitaries.
