YEWA YOUTH ASSOCIATION HOLDS 2024 3RD QUARTER MEETING AT IHUNBO-YEWA

In continuation of the actualization of its mandate of coordinating and harmonizing Yewa town central youth bodies and enhancing Yewa Youth community participation for vertical and horizontal development of Yewaland, the Yewa Youth Association (YYA) holds the 2024 3rd quarter meeting of the Association, a fortnight ago, at the palace of Onihunbo of Ihunbo-Yewa with Fifty-two (52) youth representatives of different Yewa towns’ central Youth bodies from all local government areas in Yewaland in attendance.

At the meeting,

  1. We were blessed with an inspiring royal message from His Royal Highness, the Onihunbo of Ihunbo-Yewa, Oba J. O Adesiyan, who eulogized the zeal of Yewa youths towards Yewaland development
  2. We received reports of activities from different towns’ Youth bodies which include commendable impacts on education, dignity of labor, entertainment, Sports, and security services in their communities. We charged all to be more enthusiastic towards the development of their towns and Yewaland; continue to have regular youth meetings and initiate developmental projects. We implored those who have not established a central youth body to do so or call for our assistance anytime to help out to achieve this or concerning any matters development.
  3. We presented reports of Yewa People Development Council (YPDC) activities which include Security efforts across Yewaland, Yewa Newsroom, Yewa TV, the ongoing Summer Coaching Classes for science students across Yewaland; and urged youth representatives in YPDC Locochaps from different towns to work with other members to ensure the bodies live up to expectations
  4. ⁠We presented activities reports of Yewa Youth Association (YYA) since the last meeting at Ilara-Yewa till date which include but not limited to; Free JAMB tutorials for Students; YYA visitation, and lecture series for Inmates at the Correctional Centre with gifts; Attendance at YDF 8th Lecture series; Attendance at the Inauguration of the Paramount ruler as Chairman of Council of Obas; Collation of Yewa Students with 200+ marks in JAMB to YPDC for admission assistance into tertiary institutions; Organised “Yewaland of My Dream Essay Competition” for Secondary School students with numerous prices for the first 20 ststudents; Distribution of Palliative to needy young people across Yewa land through town Central Youth President; Organised 365-Day Stewardship and Youth Dialogue with Yewa 10th National and State legislators; Graced Kabiyesi Olu of Imasayi-Yewa Ph.D convocation; Paramount ruler of Yewaland facilitated Federal Government Skill Acquisition and Capacity building training on CATFISH value chain for youth through YYA benefitted by 10 young people selected across Yewaland; YYA leadership facilitated special meeting of Olokuta Youths with stakeholders on reconstruction of the community roads; YYA leadership graced some Yewa towns Central Youth bodies meeting and activities; YYA leadership attended investiture of YPDC Chairman as President Nigeria Academy of Engineering; YYA received ARIES Polytechnic Management scholarship offer for Yewa Youths in their institutions; YYA leadership attended all YPDC Governing Council meeting, in the period under review with immediate reports to all Yewa Youth structures; among many others.
  5. ⁠The committee handling other YYA Special projects such as (a) Yewa Youth Career Talk for Secondary school students in Yewaland; (b) Yewa Youth Stop the Crime Campaign in the secondary schools and Artisans meeting places/workshops across Yewaland; (c) Yewa Youth Awards; (d) Yewa Youth Association constitution review; were charged to buckle up and submit its activity reports on or before 28th September 2024.
  6. ⁠The meeting reiterated its directive to the President and his executive to strategies on means to relate with different structures handling Federal and State government projects to locally source for Artisans in facilitated projects across Yewaland to help our youths and others benefit to youths of Yewaland and YYA.
  7. ⁠The meeting directed the President and his executive to ensure towns who are regular at meetings should be given first consideration when opportunity surfaces to encourage and motivate them and relate with necessary quarters to bring Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia to live and work with other Stakeholders for see to the end of 20km petroleum ban and reduction of checkpoints in our Border areas.
  8. ⁠The meeting directed all youth leaders to continue charging youths of Yewaland to continue being the best, and diligent in their undertakings, and be more patriotic and passionate about their father’s land development.
  9. The meeting urged youths of Yewaland to use the window of the upcoming local government election to collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) at designated places and participate actively in electioneering processes as responsible citizens.
