OGUN LG ENJOINS DANGOTE TO CONSTRUCT TRAILER PARK FOR TRAFFIC FLOW

Management of Dangote Cement Factory, Ibese has been charged to construct trailer park, towards ensuring free flow of traffic, prevent illegal parking, road blockage and minimise frequent avoidable accident along the axis.

The Chairman, Yewa North Local Goverment, Dr. Olusola Akinbode gave the charge during a familarisation tour, embarked upon by the Council’s management team to assess the impacts of the Cement Plant in Ibese and its environs.

The Chairman, who commended the management of Dangote Cement Plant for their level of compliance to environmental regulations and for sustaining the organisation’s vision, said Ogun State was blessed, being an investment destination of choice in Nigeria, stressing that the state had been waxing stronger under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun and creating conducive environment for various investments to thrive.

He assured the Company of the Local Government’s support in promoting peaceful coexistence that would bring about development, particularly in their host community, urging them not relent in sustaining the Company’s policy on Community Social Responsibility in the area.

The Factory’s Plant Director, Roy Uttam appreciated the Local and state Governments for supporting the company to thrive under a conducive and friendly environment, informing the Council’s management that the Plant would continue to keep and observe the state environmental regulations, so as to ensure healthy living and socio-economic well-being of all.

The Head, Social Performance, Dangote Cement Plant, Ibese, Mr. Ademola Ojolowo, said the company has increased its social contributions towards improving the livelihood of residents, with more focus on health, education, empowerment, and infrastructural development of their host Communities, assuring the Council that Dangote would embark on the construction of a trailer park on a large hectare of land that would accommodate over 500 trucks at once.
