OBA OLUGBENLE DONATES TROPHIES AND KITS TO SUPPORT YEWA UNITY CUP

His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro, Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, and Chairman of the Ogun State Council of Obas, has pledged his continued support for youth development and unity in Yewaland by donating trophies and football jerseys to the Yewa Youth Association.

In a statement signed by ‘Deola Adeyemi, Special Assistant to the Paramount Ruler on Media and Strategic Communications, the monarch handed over the trophies and kits to representatives of the Yewa Youth Association on Friday, 28th March 2025. Oba Olugbenle underscored the power of sports as a unifying force and a platform for developing leadership skills. He urged the youth to embrace discipline, teamwork, and fair play as they compete in the tournament.

Responding on behalf of the Yewa Youth Association, Com. Olusesan Olatunji, Chairman of the Planning Committee, as well as the President of the Ayetoro Central Youth Association and Assistant Secretary of the Yewa Youth Association, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the royal gesture. He noted that the support from Oba Olugbenle strengthens their commitment to promoting unity and excellence through sports.

The Yewa Unity Cup, which has gained considerable attention, will continue on Saturday, 5th April 2025, with the semi-final matches, while the final is set for 13th April 2025 at the Gateway International Stadium in Ilaro-Yewa.
