The newly installed Oloola of Ilara in Imeko/Afon Local Government Area of the Ogun State, Oba Lawal Alani, has been charged to see his appointment as a call to serve, to further pave way for accelerated socio-economic development of Ilara and Yewaland in general.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun gave the charge during the official presentation of Staff of Office to the Monarch at Ilara, urging him to complement the ‘Building Our Future Together’ agenda of the present administration so as to increase the spate of development in the community.
Governor Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, enjoined the Monarch to use his verse knowledge and harness potentials to bring the town to greater height.
In his remarks, the Olu and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamen Olanite, implored the new monarch to embrace peaceful co-existence among his people and the neighbouring communities, calling on the residents to give their support to the new King so as to aid the rapid development of the town.
In his acceptance speech, the Oloola of Ilara, Oba Lawal Alani, who appreciated the Governor for the opportunity and the mandate reposed in him to serve the people of Ilara, disclosed that he would operate an open-door policy that would enable him to serve the people with integrity, urging sons and daughters of Ilara both at home and in Diaspora, to join hands in building peaceful, progressive, prosperous community.
Meanwhile, Prince Abiodun has admonished the new Kobowore of Odo-Jobore, Odogbolu Local Government Area, Oba Olalekan Ogunbanjo, to utilise his position to attract investors to the community, in order to sustain the status of Ogun State as the Industrial Hub of the country.
The Governor made this known at the Official Installation and Presentation of Staff of Office to the Monarch, pointing out that it was imperative for him and indigenes to take advantage of the ISEYA mantra of the present administration and explore the abundant human and material resources available in the state.
Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Ganiyu Hamzat said, the Monarch’s position as one of the custodians of customs and traditions of Ijebuland was to be accessible, receptive and responsive to the yearnings of his people, enjoining the people of Odo-Jobore to rally round the monarch by giving him all the necessary support and cooperation needed to move the community to an enviable height.
In his acceptance speech, the new Kobowore of Odo-Jobore, Oba Olalekan Ogunbanjo appreciated the Governor for the privilege to serve his people, saying he would do his utmost best at uplifting the kingdom to a better and prosperous status, appealing to the people for their cooperation and support with the aim of bringing about the overall development of the town.
