IMEKO AFON LOCAL GOVERNMENT PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR YEWA STUDENTS

On the 22nd of January 2024, the leadership of the National Association of Yewa Students (NAYES) National Body, led by the National President, Comr. Tella Faruq Ayobami, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Imeko Afon Local Government, Hon. Theophilus Aremu Olorode, at his office.

The delegation included; Comr. Bisi Ajense (Senate President), Comr. Oluwagbohunmi Adisa (General Secretary), Comr. Idris Bamgboye (Treasurer), Comr. Adebiyi Gabriel (Public Relations Officer), Comr. Saka Faisat (Welfare Director), and Other key stakeholders.

In his remarks, Comr. Tella Faruq Ayobami expressed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Theophilus Aremu Olorode for his warm reception and unwavering commitment to the student community. He provided a detailed briefing on the association’s upcoming programs, its mission, and its efforts since assuming office. The president also highlighted the various challenges students face and requested the support of the local government to enhance educational development across Yewaland. The President added that NAYES is an Umbrella body for Yewa Students across the Federation and the body is under the guidance of Yewa Peoples Development Council and Supervision of Yewa Traditional Council.

In response, Hon. Theophilus Aremu Olorode commended the leadership of NAYES for their dedication and vision. He applauded their well-structured presentation and emphasized the importance of student empowerment in Yewaland. He pledged the full support of Imeko Afon Local Government for NAYES, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to fostering educational growth.

“Imeko Afon Local Government is fully ready to support NAYES in all possible areas. Beyond that, I will also personally support the students’ body in any way I can,” he assured.

The chairman further advised the students to avoid being used as tools for political influence, emphasizing that their focus should remain on personal development and education. He called on them to remain steadfast in their goals and contribute meaningfully to the progress of Yewaland.

Furthermore, the chairman encouraged students and young entrepreneurs across Yewaland to explore Imeko Afon’s vast and untapped opportunities. He emphasized the need for students to take the lead in attracting investors to the region, thereby contributing to the overall development of Yewaland.
