ABIODUN CALLS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF IJAKA-OKE

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has called on the new Agbaigba of Ijaka-Oke, Oba Joseph Ogungbohun, to ensure sustainable development of Ijaka-Oke and its environs.

Governor Abiodun, who made the call during the Official Installation and Presentation of Staff of Office to the new monarch at Ijaka-Oke, Yewa North Local Government Area of the state, enjoined the new monarch to be proactive by embracing innovations and implementing sustainable projects that would bring about the overall socio-economic development of the community and envy of its contemporaries.

Represented by the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, pointed out that government was keen on prompt filling of vacant stools in the state to ensure that traditional institutions and leadership were properly positioned, as they serve as the bridge between the people at the grassroots and government.

Abiodun explained that as Part III Coronet Oba, the new monarch had become the royal custodian of the culture and tradition of Ijaka-Oke, adding that Oba Ogungbohun must continue to champion efforts that would promote peaceful co-existence among the people and other royal fathers in Yewaland, to justify the mandate and trust reposed in him by the government and people of Ijaka-Oke.

He urged the people to support and cooperate with the new monarch and ensure all hands are on deck to pave way for improved standard of living in the community.

Earlier, the Executive Chairman, Yewa North Local Government Area, Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi, advised the monarch to harness the potential in the land, to support the developmental drive of the present administration, appealing to sons and daughters of Ijaka-Oke both at home and in the Diaspora to rally round and support the new king in his vision and mission to transform Ijaka-Oke to an enviable land by facilitating growth and unity.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Ogungbohun, appreciated the governor and the people for the opportunity to serve, promising that developmental projects, workable and friendly policies to attract investors would be implemented, to improve the well-being and the economy of the community, soliciting for more infrastructural development in Yewaland.
